Along with Bún riêu cô Dung, the tofu pudding in the alley, hidden within the old temple, is always on the list of must-try dishes when visiting the “Cau Giay Food Court”. The smooth, white tofu pudding is cooked with sugar water, offering a light sweetness that is not too overpowering and is fragranced with the scent of jasmine flowers. Especially in this era of innovation, tofu pudding has been modernized by adding various colorful jelly toppings. Yet, the Yên Hòa tofu pudding remains faithful to its traditional coconut pearl and grass jelly toppings.
Although I am not a student of Yên Hòa High School, I am fortunate to have studied nearby and to have experienced that unchanged flavor over the past decade.
